Jianglong Shipbuilding marked a major strategic milestone on June 30 with the official steel cutting ceremony for two SPA65 AHTS multi-purpose offshore vessels.

The ceremony commenced with a traditional lion dance ritual. Tran Hoai Duc (Deputy General Manager of Haduco), Chen Junjin (Regional General Manager of ABS), Zhang Yao (Deputy General Manager of SPEC), and Yan Zhiqing (Chairman of Jianglong Shipbuilding) jointly performed the lion eye-dotting ceremony, officially launching the dual-vessel construction project.

At the event, Shen Hui (General Manager of Jianglong Shipbuilding) extended sincere gratitude to all partnering institutions for their trust and support. He introduced the SPA65 AHTS as a high-end offshore support vessel tailored for complex global sea conditions, representing a key upgrade in the company’s offshore product portfolio. He emphasized that Jianglong will adhere to refined construction management, strictly control project progress, quality and safety standards, and deliver high-quality, benchmark-standard vessels on schedule.

Throughout the preparatory phase, Jianglong worked closely with the technical teams from SPEC and ABS Classification Society. The three parties collaborated across multiple professional disciplines, optimizing design and construction solutions in full compliance with international high-end offshore equipment standards to ensure smooth project implementation.

Zhang Yao of SPEC noted that the company will leverage its full-industry-chain technical advantages to support the project construction, empowering the new vessels to serve the global offshore energy market with high-performance and standardized design solutions.

As an experienced offshore operator with 12 years of industry experience and a fleet of nearly 50 operational vessels, shipowner Haduco is actively upgrading its fleet with SPA65 and SPA100 series vessels to adapt to the global green energy trend. Tran Hoai Duc spoke highly of Jianglong’s professional construction capabilities and rigorous quality control system. He expressed anticipation for continuous efficient collaboration and long-term strategic partnership between both parties.

Featuring excellent overall performance, the SPA65 AHTS vessel integrates anchor handling, heavy towing, offshore supply, marine rescue and standby support functions. Equipped with a DP-2 dynamic positioning system and advanced electric propulsion system, it delivers stable power output, precise operation and outstanding energy-saving performance, fully meeting the diversified operational demands of global offshore platforms.

This dual-vessel project further enriches Jianglong’s lineup of high-end special offshore vessels, accelerates the company’s transformation toward high-value marine equipment, and solidifies its competitiveness in the global offshore market.
